Cafeteria Services for KOUNTZE ISD

The district participates in the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs and offers students nutritionally balanced meals daily.  Free and reduced-price lunches are available based on financial need.  Information about a student’s participation is confidential.  See Liz Jordan to apply. 409-246-3877 x8  ljordan@kountzeisd.org

The district follows the federal and state guidelines regarding foods of minimal nutritional value being served or sold on school premises during the school day.  [For more information, see policy CO (LEGAL).]

MEDICAL PROBLEMS:  If your child is unable to consume a food component because of medical or other special dietary need, the cafeteria will be glad to make substitutions.  Such substitutions may be made only when supported by a statement signed by a recognized medical authority.  These statements must be kept on file and renewed each year.

CHARGING:  Kountze ISD students will only be allowed to charge up to $25.00 for their breakfast/lunch before they are put on the NO CHARGE list.   Students on the NO CHARGE list will be given an alternative meal.  The cafeteria staff will make every effort to contact the parents before a student is put on the NO CHARGE list.

Pre-Pay for School Meals at www.PayPAMS.comAll students/parents may register with PayPAMS Online or by calling 1-888-994-5100 to be able to view account balances, monitor daily spending, or make online payments to your child/children’s cafeteria accounts from the convenience of your home 24/7.  Parents can setup an email reminder when their child/children’s account balance is getting low, so that you can avoid any charging.  All payments made through PayPAMS will take one to two days before it shows in the school account, so please remember when making payments online that you must allow time for the school to receive the payment.  Payments with credit/debit cards can only be made by using our PayPAMS System.  We encourage all parents to register with PayPAMS to be able to monitor your child/children’s account weekly or monthly to avoid students having to charge their breakfast/lunch.   As of May 1st  there will be NO CHARGING allowed until the end of school in order for the cafeteria staff to collect charges.

Parents/students may also make cash/check payments at the school cafeteria 7:00am-2:00pm.

FREE/REDUCED LUNCHES:

All parents are encouraged to fill out an application for free/reduced lunches.  Parents need to fill out a new application each year unless the student is on direct certification. All students that qualify through the Direct Certification Program will receive a letter in the mail from the school; please make sure that all children in the household are listed on that letter.  Students that were on the free/reduced lunch program from the last school year have 30 calendar days to fill out a new application each year before they are taken off the program.  Any charges incurred after the 30 calendar days are the responsibility of the parent regardless. A lunch application is included and if you have any questions you may contact Liz Jordan on the Elementary Campus at 409-246-3877 x 8 or email ljordan@kountzeisd.org
