|Kountze Middle School Anti-bullying Proclamation|
Posted Date: 01/22/2018
The students at Kountze Middle School take their education and campus family quite seriously. Our middle school campus has been working on making the district a bully free zone for several years now and are one step closer to the campus goals. This year has seen our 8th grade students make pledges to stand up for what is right by signing team contracts that help prevent bullying before it starts. The 8th grade class has stepped up to include community members in their quest to make the district a better place. The president of the Kountze Middle School Bully Club, Peyton McLaurin, composed a proclamation that would officially designate January 2018 as the Kountze Middle School Anti-bullying Month. Peyton worked diligently to research and draft an official proclamation that would be presented to the Kountze Mayor, the Honorable Fred Williams, during a city council meeting. The proclamation was unanimously accepted and Peyton explained her passion to make Kountze ISD and the city a socially safer place for everyone. Mayor Williams was a very gracious host and expressed his gratitude for students taking a stand against bullying and the damages it can create in our society. He also spoke highly of his personal time as an educator and his love for the school district. Kountze Middle school is proud of the hard work put forth by the anti-bully club members and are thankful for the support of the city’s mayor and council members. We are proud to announce that January 2018 is an officially recognized anti-bullying month in Kountze, Texas.
