I graduated from HJ in 1999. I went on to Lamar Univeristy where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications- Broadcast Journalism. After a few years in the TV news business, I went back to school to complete a teaching certificate for English/Language Arts 8th-12th grade. I have been in education since 2007.
This is my fourth year at Kountze High School. I teach English III, and AP Language and Composition. I am a junior class sponsor and coach UIL Ready Writing. I have also taught at LC-M and West Hardin High Schools. I started at HJ High School as a special education aide in 2007.
My husband, Casey, and I have been married since 2002. We have two daughters that are 16 and 7.
I spend my free time with my family and baking sweet treats. I do cookies, cupcakes, pies, and other candies. I love to make things for the people in my life to enjoy. I spend other times reading, playing board games (Settlers of Catan is our family favorite), or watching The Crown and reruns of Gilmore Girls or Friends.
